Yet another weekend snow storm!  The weather man said 6-12″.  We got 22″!

I am soooooo ready for spring!

What a weekend!  On Saturday, my wonderful husband took me to breakfast, then took me shopping!!  We had so much fun!  Our first stop was Target…to find the Penguin Shaped Post it notes that Kristen over at {dancing} in the margins told me about.  They didn’t have them   However they did have frog ones and heart ones and really cute heart shaped ice cube trays!

Then we went to Kohls and bought some Food Network cooking gadgets to aid us in our New Year’s resolution of eating more healthy.  My husband patiently waited while I tried on clothes (that I didn’t even end up buying) and then he encouraged me to buy an adorable purse and absolutely lovely scarf.

The original point of the shopping trip was to buy boots.  We went to four places to look for them and I couldn’t find any that I liked.  I think that I will just buy the ones that I found online that I like.  They look like they are really warm, comfy and will last a few years.

By Sunday morning, I wished that I had found boots!  We got 8″ of snow.  We were going to visit another new church, but most of the church services in the area were canceled.   So we stayed in, made homemade bread and french toast and spent a quite day together.

Today, I am home sick with a stomach bug! But at least the weekend was great!

Still no power.  Still no heat.  Still no water.  Our pipes may freeze and there is nothing that we can do to stop it.  Generators are impossible to find and even if we could find one we would have to find an electrictian to install it.  Rumor is that it could be up to two weeks before we have power.  Kinda puts a damper on Christmas.

“Maybe not.  Not today.  Maybe you’ll provide in other ways an if that’s the case…”  Well, that is the case right now.  And boy is it hard to be thankful.  I am thankful that my family took us in.  I am thankful that we have a warm place to be.  But, honestly?  Honestly, I am stressed and worried.  I am worried about what we will find when the power comes back.  I am worried about what Christmas will be like.  I am stressed because I have missed two days of work.  And somehow even with my family around me, I feel lonely.  I feel distant and scared.  My husband is wonderful and is doing his best to reassure me, but I can tell that this is stressful for him as well.  My step-father is not too impressed to have us here and my mother can understand why we aren’t in the Christmas spirit right now.

My husband just got back from work.  We are going to head to the house and check on things.

We have had no power, no heat, and no water since Friday 2:00am.   My husband, my fur children and myself are at my mom’s home in her tiny guestroom.   This is not a fun adventure,  but at least we are warm and safe!
